My approach is empathetic, sensitive, inclusive, non-judgemental, supportive and direct. It's also client-centered, relational and trauma informed.
I will be attentive to and curious about what is present for you; wondering with you about your thoughts, feelings and experiences, responding to you with empathy. I will listen carefully and encourage your exploration while also allowing space for your story to unfold.
Together we will co-create a collaborative space where the meanings behind difficult feelings, relationships or circumstances, both past and present, can be better understood over time. We will explore the impact and influence of these experiences on your sense of self and well-being. We will also explore some of the beliefs you hold about yourself/others and how they show up in patterns and themes in your interpersonal connections.
As awareness and mindfulness grow over time through talk and compassionate, curious exploration, you may find greater freedom and space from outdated and/or habitual patterns of thought and belief, resulting in more flexibility in choosing how you respond in different areas of your life. This may lead you to feel better about yourself and your agency.
Areas of focus include but are not limited to: relationship issues, self-esteem and self-worth, depression, anxiety, family conflict, divorce, trauma, loss and grief, life changes and transitions, spirituality and meaning/purpose.
I invite you to explore the possibility for growth that stems from a strong and safe therapeutic relationship.
